What is The Huddle?

The Huddle is our new affordable housing program, which will accommodate single-parent students and their families while providing them with wrap-around services to ensure that they thrive as both students and parents. Such services will include mentoring with a Whole-Family Program Coordinator, plus monthly workshops to ensure their success in school, in their careers, and in supporting their families.

The Huddle on 5th, located in West Sacramento, California, will be the first facility of this kind in California. The building will accommodate 17 families, with each unit featuring a full-size kitchen, two bedrooms, one bathroom, central heating and air conditioning, and washers and dryers. Additionally, all 2nd and 3rd floor units have gated balconies.

The Huddle on 5th: Progress Over the Past Year

Bringing The Huddle to Los Angeles

This March, we were thrilled to announce another major milestone for The Huddle: last year, we submitted a community project funding request to Congresswoman Nanette Barragán of California’s 44th District, and this month, she has secured $800,000 in government funding to support our second The Huddle property in Los Angeles—which means we can begin making this project a reality in Southern California!

Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting projects as we build momentum and continue to create a brighter future for single-parent families! To submit an inquiry, please contact us at info@raisethebarr.org.
